Program Description
From navigating the art of clarity in the written word to juggling the delicate relationship between science and the media, the Graduate Certificate in Science Communication trains future science professionals in the skills needed to communicate effectively and ethically. The course of study is available as both a graduate certificate and an interdisciplinary minor and is offered to all Master of Science and Ph.D. students, as well as postdoctoral fellows. The curriculum includes courses such as Writing Across the Space Sciences; Survival Skills and Ethics; the Art of Scientific Storytelling; Reporting with Multimedia; Health Journalism; and Science Information and its Presentation.
